Research Ethics and Scientific Integrity

A fundamental understanding of all research personnel regarding the ethical principles that guide scientific endeavors, the protection of human and animal participants, and scientific integrity, is essential to the success of any institution dedicated to research. With this in mind, CIDEIM established an alliance with CITI, a group founded by the University of Miami and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, for the development and diffusion of online research ethics and integrity courses, in 2011. Through this partnership, CIDEIM currently offers online introductory courses to our principal investigators, research assistants, laboratory assistants, students, administrative personnel and our Ethics Review Committee. Soon, we will be making use of material available through CITI to create refresher and advanced courses in research ethics and scientific integrity.
