The International Symposium on Prevention of Health Care Associated Infections (HAI) was established in 2011. The target audience for the symposium includes professionals in infectious disease, hospital epidemiology, intensive care, infection control, medical direction and auditing, with the goal of discussing current topics in nosocomial infection prevention and control. The symposium serves as a venue for the Colombian Society of Clinical Epidemiology and to inform the development of prevention and control protocols within hospitals.
