Effective Project Planning and Evaluation in Health Research

The Effective Project Planning and Evaluation (EPPE) course seeks to strengthen the skills of investigators and health professionals in the areas of planning, organizing, managing and evaluating their research projects, thereby ensuring successful implementation, effective collaborations and increased competitivity for international funding.

In order to achieve these expected goals, the EPPE course is based on a practical approach to teaching – participating groups apply the EPPE methodology to their own projects. They first define the purpose and scope of their project, then develop a work plan and finally establish parameters for communication which facilitate the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of their activities.

CIDEIM, selected as a Regional Training Center in Good Health Research Practices by WHO/TDR, has institutionalized the EPPE methodology and promoted its dissemination to research and academic centers in Colombia, Latin America and the Caribbean. In order to establish local capacity for continuing the dissemination of the EPPE methodology, CIDEIM also offers the Train-the-Trainer course.
